Managing treatment side-effects is a crucial aspect of radiation therapy, and at ROPART, we are dedicated to supporting you through every step of your journey. Your radiation oncologist will regularly monitor your progress and keep you informed about your treatment plan’s effectiveness and any potential side-effects. Additionally, other healthcare professionals such as nurses, dietitians, speech pathologists, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists, who are part of your care team, will help monitor and manage any side-effects you experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We recommend a plain sorbolene or aqueous cream.

  • Yes. You are NOT radioactive during or after your treatment. There is no danger to your family or friends.

  • Yes. Continue to eat your meals as normal. Drink lots of water each day. Your nurse will advise you if you need to make any changes.

  • Some people do feel more tired during, and after their course of treatment. You should still be able to do your normal activities.

  • Yes. Your doctor will advise you if there are any changes.

  • Radiotherapy only effects the area being treated. So, you may lose hair in the area you are having treatment to.

    Your radiation oncologist and nurse will be able to answer any questions about the side-effects of your radiation treatment.
